Right to work

The right to work law states that the employees have the entitlement to work in unionized workplaces without having to be members of the union and without having to pay the union’s regular dues. The right to work laws are designed to deceive the workers and lure them into believing that they work for the worker’s benefit. According to Robert Reich, the right to work laws are meant to oppress the workers and favor the corporations. The right to work laws denies the employee the bargaining power to get higher wages, thus crushing the workers.  They also keep the workers from bargaining for better working hours and better working conditions, which does not favor the American workers in any way.

The right to work laws hurt not only workers but also attract businesses that do not favor the workers. Such companies offer huge loads of works, longer working hours, and poor wages to the workers. Such companies do not conduct research, and they do not add any value to the lives of these workers. With the introduction of these right to work laws, workers from the country are moving to other countries abroad to seek for even cheaper work at places that favor them. To the workers, this is pure oppression from the government.

Right to work laws has destroyed unions in many states where they have been introduced. Luckily, my country had managed to fight these laws before they were introduced here. The unions in my state are quite stable and have managed to protect the rights of the workers by resisting the oppressive laws such as this one. From my point of view, the right to work law should be abolished in all the states where it has been enacted to give the workers better wages and some freedom.
